Description |
This club may be made of a burl on a branch rather than a root. Large, bulbous burl at end of handle, with root/branch continuing out on other end, formed into a very simple human head. Entire surface is varnished. Handle has several bends. Fancy twine knot about 3/4 up handle. Hanging hole drilled near butt end of handle. This piece was given to the donor's father, Byron L. Robinson about 70 years ago (ca. 1930) by Sylvester Francis, Passamaquoddy. Francis lived on Robinson's property in Southwest Harbor in the summer. |
