Large urchin basket with brown ash and braided cedar bark. Inset lid. Double loop hand and ring stand made with pattern of woven ash and cedar bark learned by artist from Hawaiian weavers. Braided cedar bark is used where traditional Wabanaki basket would use braided sweetgrass. |
